We walked the beach but it was too rough to swim.  So we sat on the rocky point and watched the surfers go by on a  break just to the left of this view. While fun to watch, the scene upcountry was more interesting with the clouds just starting to form at the top of Haleakala.  From our vantage point we were in the shadows looking at little tidepools between the rocks and in the distance the surf was crashing!
