Diane's Story by "Chief Roadie" & Husband John

Updated: Nov 7, 2021

Several of Diane's collectors have asked me to tell them more about the story of this artist whom I love and from where the spirit of her paintings has emerged.

I hope I can begin to tell Diane's story with a few pictures which reflect her heart.

First off, she loves the beauty of nature in all of its forms ....

... and has lived her entire life with fond pets by her side. Here on Maui those pets include rescue cats Boomer & Lili and a half-dozen garden Geckos (Gracie below) who Diane feeds daily.

Sunsets speak to her in a particular way ...

... and she sees things in clouds that few of us do ...

Her sense of humor is a foundation ...

... and she loves nothing more than hanging out with her family...

... partly because of tragedy in her young life when her warm mother, Elinor, left this earth suddenly when Diane was just 12 years old:

The great love of life she acquired makes her a good part goof-ball ...

... and she has just enough wild on her side ...

... at a Lahaina, Maui Halloween ...

... or at a California Halloween...with the "Roadie" below...

I am not surprised that Diane's paintings inspire more and more people every day.

I consider myself lucky to have become friends with a number of her collectors who share my love of the warmth and "somewhere over the rainbow" optimism in Diane's work - she truly paints from her heart.

With love,

John Appler, Chief Roadie & Husband
