The focus of the painting is my last Lahaina staycation for my 6o -something birthday on Lahainaluna Road. I love to stay a night and enjoy Lahaina while I'm restocking the galleries. During this stay we dined at the Lahaina Grill and stayed at the Hotel Lahaina. Both were a treat! We could sit on the upper porch and see down Lahainaluna Road to the boats bobbing adjacent to Front Street and then look upcountry to the Pioneer Mill Historic Smokestack and the ever-refreshed big "L" for Lahaina. Outside the door is the whistful face of a ship's figurehead waiting for her captain to return.
