I've been in my usual routine, cooking, tennis, painting, etc. But the most fun was having friends visit from the mainland! We dine out and I can give you a tour!
Fun on Maui always includes a lunch at the Burger Shack in Kapalua at DT Fleming Beach.

(This view was the inspiration behind https://www.dianeappler.com/product-page/burger-shack-view-kapalua-dt-fleming-beach )
This was the day and always a delight. The view and breeze makes this a great spot for a burger. Burger is now my second favorite, Monkey Pod tops it in flavor, but the view /burger combo can't be beat.
Evening outing was to Hali'imaile General Store where they did a Paniolo BBQ night in the big backyard semi enclosed tent with a country band and dancing with the buffet. Food was good and the cost of $60 PP was a good value. The music was lively, loud, but good. We went inside for a nightcap and enjoyed the music from afar.

If you get on the mailing list for Gather or Hali'imaile General store, you'll know about the events when you come to visit.
Last time I posted I had Black Rock Pizza on my top pizza list. BUT. I found a better spot.
Why? Pizza Madness is a full service spot with a liquor license so I don't have to BYOB. Great pizza loaded with topping and serves a huge salad. So you have options. BYOB? Black Rock. Want to be served in a casual spot, with a great selection of wings, etc? Pizza Madness.

And last, if you are in the Shops of Wailea, Remember Longhi's? Wolfgangs Steak House moved into their spot. It is HUGELY expensive for a great steak. BUT. Happy Hour is the deal. 3-6 PM, Tenderloin skewers, and sliders are a big hit for a reasonable price. 2 sliders with fries is $15. Great taste with just a pickle and dressing. Here they are.... or should I say "it is" since I already ate one before the photo.

Reasonably priced wine, beer and super good prices on a simple mixed drink.
Friendly staff, Niko, Candy both from Argentina, and here on a work away assignment. Hope they come back.
But Wait! There is More!
KOAST in Wailea Village opened their doors in January with a soft launch and now they are fully up and running with a full bar, interesting and unique cocktails and local food cuisine creations. The decor is serene and they have a great view. I reviewed them in the past blog, but is always fun to go back and see the progress of a new establishment.

We had a small group there for Valentines Day and came back for the new Happy Hour this past week. Not your ordinary fare: Fried saltines and smoked fish dip, Venison sausage with clams, Bavette or Hanger Steak depending on the day, from local beef. We adore grass-fed Maul beef, cattle in paradise.

Alicia was behind the bar crafting cocktails and Jason was the server- wine selector extraordinaire. Happy Hour $10 Vodka with Strawberry, Lemon and Basil. and of course, a Classic Martini. Go for Happy Hour- opens at 3 PM and enjoy the view.
