If you stay in the Ekahi (Ekahi: means one), Elua (Elua: means two), and Ekolu (Ekolu: means three ) condos, (named by the order they were built, FYI) there are some great dining spots nearby in Wailea Village without going to the resorts. Of course, my favorite happy hour (5-6 PM) is still at "Humble Market Kitchin" a Roy Yamaguchi Restaurant at the Wailea Beach Resort. But we all like a little change of pace now and again.
Here's a quick run down and I have tried each and every one of these spots. All have some open air dinning options. Wailea weather is great.
Breakfast / Lunch:
Spoon and Key: Deli take out meets wholesome breakfast and lunch wraps with alcohol options. Ample portions, I regretted eating all of my gluten-free turkey wrap sandwich, I was stuffed. They cook dinners on occasion, so check ahead.
Akamai Coffee and Creamery: (translates to 'expert' and it fits - award winning coffee shop and eatery) And the neighborhood chooses this spot for the best coffee around. Light food 6 am through lunch.
Choice: Newly opened! Vegan options for breakfast 7:30 thru lunch until 3 pm. Serves you unprocessed, locally sourced, whole-food, vegan, vegetarian & gluten-free options. Founded in Lahaina in 2011, locally owned and operated Maui business now open in Wailea.

Lunch, Late Lunch, Happy Hour through Late Dinner: Something for everyone

Lahaina Brewing Co: Includes Kohola Brewery, same location, renamed. Opens at 11 -10 PM and Wailea Craft Kitchen. Beer-ia Tacos at happy hour are my favorite- so ono! (means delicious). I opt for a gluten-free beer here since the chardonnay is pricey, even with $4 off at happy hour.

Koast: Opens for Happy hour 3- 5 PM then thru 8:30 dinner. Nice selections of fish and meat and vegetarian options. View with fine dining, friendly staff and nice happy hour cocktails and treats. We personally love their steaks (and me the roasted potatoes - yes, I'm Ukrainian after all, we love potatoes!).
Manoli's: Greek meets Italian...pizza, burger, pasta, salads, a little of a lot of things. 11 AM to 10 PM for dining, and drinks til 12 AM. We go for a beverage after tennis a lot, but the pizza is good, gluten-free option available, and the Jaxon Burger is notable. I love the view and I'm working on the night scene in my studio now....

Tikihau Lounge: They have won some awards and I have not tried all of their food, but the 2-5 Happy Hour is inviting! Craft cocktails and small plate-kine food until 10 PM. Poke is voted super. Located below Koast.
You can eat here all week and walk it off to the beach (Ulua is closest), the Shops of Wailea, (more dining options there), and my art at Maui Hands, and my Thursday show 8-2 PM at the Wailea Beach Resort. In a pinch, and if its not dark out, I could walk home. But I live uphill....car please!
#Waileavillage offers a lot of #Dining options including #KOAST, #Manolis, #Akamaicoffee and #Akamaicreamery, with #Beer #brewers and great #Chefs and #sunsetview #dining.
