A traveling artist emailed the gallery.  She wanted to know where to buy art supplies on Maui.  I directed her to the unlikely place, Ace Hardware.  Then I also added I had some items she could use if needed.  We set up a date to paint together  while she was on the island. This painting came together as we sat and talked and enjoyed the beach painting and sharing helpful tips we had gleaned over the years. 
This is Keawakapu Beach near the  south entrance where you get to the beach via the stairs.  Kids were playing in the sand close to the water's edge and the toys were washing away.  We rescued them, but.... the other 'rubber slippah' as the Hawaiians say, was gone!
