California & Rest of World- Original Art
Landscapes with the endless vistas from mountain to ocean and rolling hills in between are a favorite subject. California's landscapes are diverse. Close up study of a particular scene, like a rocky beach or vines growing in the Gold Country or Napa Valley is also very rewarding. As an artist, I see a painting everywhere I go. My favorite locations have been near my former home in Northern California and now in Maui, Hawaii.
I have captured a few of my favorites as original art in oil paint or watercolor. l plan to travel more and add to my collection of artist favorites to share.
The original art paintings may be available in limited edition giclee, various sizes available and individually enhanced by the artist to make each one of them unique.

My home in the redwoods was a very special place for me and my son. I painted this as a commission for my son and the subsequent enhanced giclee was made so other could enjoy the same tranquility and special feeling the light gives as it crosses through the dense, enormous trees. My wish for Mother's Day was to just spend the day in the park painting. A series of paintings sprung from the day; I worked to capture the different light as the day progressed through the various scenes. Original 9 x 12: - Sold Diane Snoey Appler
I sketched with a red oxide wash on canvas and took photos before the light changed so I could recapture the way the light came through the hills while the mist was still on them. Our area is know for the fog that almost has a life of its own. The valley was still at that moment and the breeze was barely felt. Original 16 x 20: $450 Diane Snoey Appler
My to-do list included, for months, to paint Rancho at sunset, from the area where they fly the remote control airplanes.
